Octogenarian kayakers!

We may have had SouthEast's most senior customers ever this weekend on the Onancock Creek Tour! Connie & Bud Bernton, 82 & 83, came down from Bethesda, MD to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary in Onancock. They'd never been kayaking before, and they loved it!

Kayak to a seaside waterman's cabin

Check out SouthEast Expeditions’ two-night cabin trip, the cover story of the June Virginia Living magazine.

Guests paddle out to a century-old oyster watchhouse on the seaside of the Eastern Shore. It’s basically a rustic cabin on stilts in the middle of the marsh!

By day your paddling guide takes you out to barrier island adventures; at night Dave Burden, the owner of SouthEast Expeditions, prepares gourmet meals to wine and dine you before leaving you to your beds. The cabin sleeps 4-6 people and everything is included: kayaks, gear, guide and food.

For details, go to SouthEast’s website http://www.sekayak.com/VirginiaKayak/Cabin.html Call Dave at 757-331-2680 to book this one-of-a-kind adventure.

Salute our Troops Onancock Creek Kayak tour

SouthEast's Onancock guides Bill (far right) and Mary Burnham took three Navy couples on a tour of Onancock Creek. They were among 52 winners in the Eastern Shore Saute Our Troops B&B Getaway Contest who received complimentary getaways of lodgings, dinners and even massages from our generous hosts.

Thanks for your service to our country!

Aerial video of Onancock Creek

Check out this cool video from an ultra-light flyover of Onancock. It shows the north and central branches featured on the Historic Onancock Creek Tour of this 1680 Colonial port.

Of course, folks can still book a trip for any time that suites their schedule from SE's growing itinerary of cool paddling places like Saxis, with a visit to a soft-shell crab shed, the Great Machipongo River from Quinby, the seaside barrier islands, the Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge, and SouthEast's signature Kayak Winery Tour!

Call (757) 331-2680 to book a trip.

Winter Kayaking on Onancock Creek

Here's one of my first attempts at kayak-video on an unseasonably warm winter day paddling Onancock Creek. That's Bill paddling to the wharf: the yellow building is Hopkins Bros Store, housing Mallards restaurant. Bill and I looking forward to a great season leading historic tours of our creek for SouthEast Expeditions!
